Beatrice Cointreau

The expert winemaker and distiller Beatrice Cointreau comes from a long line of entrepreneurs in the alcohol industry. She is the great-granddaughter of Cointreau liquor’s founder as well as the granddaughter of Remy Martin’s founder, who blended and designed Louis XIII, so she is proud to pass on her family’s values to the next generation. She is a certified international wine and spirits expert with over 40 years of experience.

Aside from her ascendancy, Beatrice, Cornell University & INSEAD graduate, is a seasoned international entrepreneur. She successfully managed Renaud-Cointreau group for 23 years (from 1984 to 2007), including many subsidiaries in Rhum, Cognac, Gin, Champagne, and other spirits, bringing out-of-the- box premiumization strategies. As managing director, from 1984 to 1993 she oversaw the creation, distribution, and export of various premium wines and spirits and import of various ones as well for the European market.

Sher certified in blending, both within perfume making, with a degree from ISIPCA, and spirits, with degrees from both Bordeaux and UC Davis.  Through her 40 years of experience, she created a line of premium perfumes using her nose and distillation skills.

Distillation process, aging in oak casks, derives from complex techniques used for cognac. Beatrice’s proficiency in such techniques has earned her products gold medals for the past four decades. Additionally, Beatrice globally provides conferences on blending, the incidence of wood tannins in wine and spirits, etc.

As a pioneer woman in the industry, she is a Women of the Vine and Spirit International board member as well as multiple other professional organizations. Beatrice has written four books, published on both sides of the Atlantic. She was awarded with the Legion of Honor in 2009, and “Most Inspiring Woman Leader of 2022” in June.
